Which is best ajax/javascript framework?
Discussion started by Michael Jordan , on 06 November 09:31 AM

Hi, with so many open source javascript/ajax framework out there in market which one is best framework that one should pick for web appplications?

Some of these frameworks that I am aware of are JQuery, Prototype, Dojo, YUI, MooTools, Ext, and others..

Well, you will say what will be criteria for picking best JS framework/
As per me best will be one which has maximum features, is stable, is light weight, performance is good, requires less learning curve, supports all major browsers, is under active development, and have active community of supporters and like these other factors..

What are your experiences with these JS frameworks if you have used any one of them?

This is good question where developer will flight over this with each claiming their framework best.
I think it depends on your requirement, if something meet your requirement then that is best for you... Other criteria that might be worth considering will be stable code library, give good performance, easy to learn, large industry with adoption, no license fees, good support, under active development, similarly few more...

I personally like JQuery.. and will advise to have a look on it..

There is a good article on Wikipeida whiich compares various java script frameworks out there in market... You can see if some framework meet your project requirement.
