Intel has agreed to buy McAfee Inc. for $7.68 billion, the world's No. 1 semiconductor company now wants to sell you security software as well in their push beyond PCs.

US raises H1B, L1 visa application fee by $2000

The US Senate today approved a substantial increase in application fees for H1B and L1 visas, to fund a $ 600 million emergency package to improve security along the porous Mexican border.

Google Translate has been out for quite a long time. I just gave it a try to see how it works.

If you have not yet heard about it then it can be found at http://translate.google.com/

Google Translate service can used be to translate text or a web page or entire document. Currently it supports 51 languages.

It is free service from Google Inc as of now but not sure how long it will be free. Also not sure if Google makes any money with Google Translate Service.

Recently I tried a simple java program for left and right pad a Number with zeros.

I have gone through java.util.Formatter class but Unfortunately even after 6 major releases also Java String class doesn't have functions for these basic operations like StringUtils class of Apache Commons Lang provides.

After Sun Microsystems purchase of MySQL, I thought it is good for industry as Sun can compete with IBM as Sun have everything that IBM have. Sun was already into servers machines, they have solaris OS, they are application servers, and after MySQL take over, they are end to end technology service provider.

Not to forget only recently Oracle took over BEA system... BEA's Weblogic and IBM Websphere were main competitors in middleware solutions market where Sun and Orac...

Wow! I've almost made it a full week at work! Seems like I have been there for a lot longer than 5 days so far. Interesting but not( I always feel like that with and without work. LOL!).
