The US Senate today approved a substantial increase in application fees for H1B and L1 visas, to fund a $ 600 million emergency package to improve security along the porous Mexican border.
This $2,000 increase will be be added to the existing $320 H-1B filing fee. There are a number of other add-on fees as well: a $500 anti fraud fee that is required for any new H-1B and L-1 visa user, and a fee for training U.S. workers that scales from $750 to $1,500, depending on the size of the company applying for a visa.

There was a blog posted in apache website on April 1, 2010 with same title. Blog literally made many techies sweating over possible future of hundreds of ASF projects. There were 80 comments on that blog. Of course many of the reader took it as april fool prank but still many became april fool..

The newly-discovered infestation, dubbed the "Kneber botnet" after the username linking the infected systems worldwide, gathers login credentials to online financial systems, Facebook, Yahoo, Hotmail and other social network credentials and email systems from infested computers and reports the information to miscreants who can use it to break into accounts, steal corporate and government information, and replicate personal, online and financial identities.

Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL) announced on January 27, 2010 that it had completed its acquisition of Sun Microsystems, Inc. $7.4 billion deal was finally approved by European Union last week. Deal was already approved by U.S. Department of Justice in August, 2009.
This deal give Oracle ownership of popular Java Programming Language, which run on more than a billion devices, Solaris Operating System, Open Source MySQL Database and SPARC processors.
